Memorandum

The "Il Giardino" is located in the valley of Chianti, only 25 km away from Florence, immersed in the classic landscape of the Chianti region with rolling hills, olive trees, vineyards and green forests.

The farm is divided into two Poderi: Casalta and Agliuccioli, each offers apartments of different sizes, that can accommodate from 2 up to 11 people, each apartment has its own parking and its own courtyard, garden or terrace, equipped with table and chairs.

The farm is a good starting point to complete your stay with visits to nearby cities such as Florence, Siena, San Gimignano, Arezzo and many more.

But the farmhouse Il Giardino offers also many services such as a circolar swimming pool with sun loungers and parasols, a panoramic terrace with tables and chairs for moments of peace and tranquility, or the tavern, our restaurant where you can taste typical dishes of the Florentine tradition.
There are also many trails around the farm that enable our customers to do long and quiet walks, we also advise to know the nature around with some hours of horse riding.
Once a week we also organize two guided tour, once of our farmhouse, the oil mill, the animals and the horses, the other one, on board of our bus, to the wine cellars of the area to taste the Chianti wines typical of this area.

Where we are

The agriturismo is situated close to the small village of Acone which has facilities including shop, bar, restaurant and Church services.
Acone is 6 km from the town of Rufina where you will find a good selection of Bars, shops and supermarkets, Banks and post office.
Whilst in Rufina take the opportunity to visit the “Museum of vines and wine”.
Rufina also has a train station with direct trains to the Centre of Florence.

By car from Rome or Milan

From the A1 exit in “Firenze Sud“.
Follow the signs for Pontassieve/Bagno a Ripoli and take the SP34 “Via di Rosano”, passing the villages of Candeli and Vallina.
At the roundabout take the 1st exit and continue on SP34 now also SS67 and continue passing Stentatoio and Masseto.
Enter in the village of Rufina and after passing the Agip petrol station, continue for another 200 meters until the sign with direction Montebonello and turn left in Via Roma (there is a pharmacy ion the corner)
Continue straight and cross the bridge.

AT THIS POINT YOU CAN CHOOSE BETWEEN TWO ROADS, the A or the B.

The A is shorter, but narrow; to follow it pass the bridge in Montebonello and turn left in the direction of Santa Maria in Acone, along Via Cesare Battisti.
At the stop, turn left and pass the small bridge, immediately turn right in Via dell’Argomenna.
Follow the road for about 3 km, driving cautiously up to the sign that indicates the Agriturismo Il Giardino, on your left. Take the dirt road for about 200 meters.

The B is longer and more tortuous, but wider; to follow it pass the bridge in Montebonello continue straight on in Via Giuseppe Impastato, turn left into Via Colognolese and turn right in Via Agostino Catalano, taking direction Acone.
Keep the main street Via San Eustachio in Acone for about 5 km, passing through the village of Acone and continue to the sign indicating the Agriturismo Il Giardino, take the dirt road on the right for about 200 mt.

By car from Firenze Santa Maria Novella Station

Exit the station and in Piazza della Stazione take the 2nd exit, go to the stop, turn right into Via della Scala.
At the stop, take the SS67 turning right into Viale Fratelli Rosselli and continue on the “Viali di Circonvallazione” (Viale Strozzi – Viale Lavagnini – Viale Matteotti – Viale Gramsci)
Passed the Door of Piazza Beccaria continue for Lungarno Galeazzo, Lungarno del Tempio, Lungarno Colombo, Lungarno Aldo Moro, Via Enrico de Nicola.
Once inVia De Nicola, turn right direction Bagno a Ripoli and follow the instructions from step 2 described above in the paragraph ” By car from Rome or Milan.”

By car from Florence Airport

After leaving the airport, take the A11 and continue taking the A1 motorway towards Rome. Follow the instructions from step 2 described above in the paragraph ” By car from Rome or Milan.”

By car from Pisa Airport

After leaving the airport follow the signs for the Florence-Pisa-Livorno (FI-PI-LI) for approximately 65 km and then take the A1 motorway towards Rome. Follow the instructions from step 2 described above in the paragraph ” By car from Rome or Milan.”

By train

From any station you’ll leave, we recommend you to arrive at Firenze Santa Maria Novella and from there take the train (not direct) for Borgo San Lorenzo.
The stop where you have to get off is Rufina.
From Rufina you need to take a bus with destination Acone or request a transfer.
We are able to make the transfer from the farm to the station and vice versa, we kindly ask you to call us first to arrange the service.
